Malibu, California - Point Dume

Stunning location sitting on the bluffs of Malibu's Point Dume with private beach access, this spectacular estate's active floor interiors were in need of a long overdue update.Originally built in 1980, this magnificient contemporary home was originally designed by architect Ed Niles to resemble a ship and its history includes Madonna and Sean Penn's 1985 nuptials. Purchased in the mid 1990's it underwent a major design overhaul to reflect the current owners more formal design sensibilities. Twenty years later this floor was showing its age, mismatched and time worn. The roughly 3k sq update included the multi use media room, a large hallway with interior courtyard access, 3 bedrooms with ensuite baths, a guest suite with an attached sitting room and exterior lounge & dining areas both interior courtyard and poolside where a new outdoor shower enclosure and draped sitting area were added. Truly a home for escaping the maddening pace of Los Angeles, we designed this floor for amazing hospitality or quiet contemplation. Whether enjoying a game of tennis or basking in the beauty of the pacific ocean we filled it with numerous areas to unwind and enjoy. A getaway that celebrates nature at its very best.
