"a graceful retreat"
design with grace, dignity, and purpose
PROJECT: primaries + LIVING
dining + companion suite
ADA BATH
SCOPE: INTERIOR DESIGN
LOCATION: MONTICETO, CALIFORNIA
YEAR: 2019
NESTLED WITHIN THE STORIED GROUNDS OF "CASA DORINDA" IN MONTECITO, THIS RESIDENCE WAS thoughtfully reimagined for a well-TRAVELED COUPLE ENTERING a new CHAPTER OF life.
with the primary floor plan largely preserved, THE TRANSFORMATION elevates each space through refined finishes, layered textures, and gentle color. A FORMER CLOSET BECOMES A ROMANTIC VANITY ALCOVE IN ROSE + GOLD "BIRDWATCHING" WALLPAPER—A QUIET NOD TO HER JAPANESE HERITAGE. the adjoining bath remains elegant and serene, preserving the rituals and beauty of daily life.
selective architectural modifications were reserved for the integrated companion suite, where a fully ada-accessible bath was reconfigured to provide comfort and ease without compromising discretion or style.
THROUGHOUT, MODERN ART, collected objects, AND garden VIEWS MERGE BEAUTY WITH PURPOSE — CREATING A home rooted in continuity, connection, and enduring grace.
